Tokyo, March 25, 2013 — Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. announced today that it has received an order for one steam turbine generator from Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. in Korea. The steam turbine generator is scheduled to be delivered to P.T.Mitra Energi Batam, an electric company in Batam Island, Indonesia in February 2014.

The Kawasaki steam turbine generator has a power generation capacity of 22.9 MW, and the generated power will be supplied throughout Batam Island.
Since the launch of its first industrial steam turbine in 1956, Kawasaki has supplied over 350 steam turbine units including 49 units shipped to Southeast Asia. This latest order is a testament to Kawasaki’s outstanding reliability, driven by the superior performance and lifecycle cost of Kawasaki steam turbines, excellent post-sale services and support as well as a proven track record.
In Indonesia, demand for power and energy has been increasing due to the increased production of natural resources such as oil, gas and coal and economic development based on it.
We will continue to make efforts to expand sales of steam turbines across the globe, including Southeast Asia, where there is active demand for power and energy, and actively develop energy and environmental business.
